Mud Pie, Raspberry River and Den Millionaire are just some of the new and exciting scrumptious homemade ice cream sundaes that are available from this Monday at Williams Den – right here in East Yorkshire ! And last night we had the privilege of going along to sample them. It was certainly the highlight of the week for the kids (and for me – the ice cream addict lover). We have loved Williams Den since it first opened, and now, if it wasn’t already one of favourite places, they are offering an array of milkshakes and sundaes – how yummy!
For 2 years Williams Den have made and sold ice cream on site using milk and cream from St Quintins creamery – also here in East Yorkshire. Adding locally sourced ingredients like strawberries from Gilberdyke to their yummy strawberry ice cream, they have created a wonderful array of delicious creamy ice creams with delightful flavours, and we loved them. We sampled Honeycomb, unicorn (kiwi & Blueberry), Mint choc, chocolate, strawberry and their zingy orange and pineapple sorbet – ideal for hot days. Also available were vanilla, coffee, salted caramel, peach and clotted cream.
Ice cream is such a wonderful part of childhood (and adulthood if you are like me), and with the wonderful childhood memories that joint owner Tor has from days on the family farm with cousins and grandmas hearty cooking, to the ice cream van that appeared on their street throughout summer, she wanted to incorporate an element of this nostalgia and help children who come through the doors of Williams Den to gather with their families and, not only enjoy the delicious pizza and other homemade foods they serve, but also their new creations of scrumptious ice cream too. I think it is such a beautiful thing, and we enjoyed sharing those moments together.
The new ice cream corner will be available all year round, with plans to introduce a hot chocolate tent out in the tipi and crepes come Winter. They also hope to create a kids club sometime in the Autumn too, where children can come and help invent new flavours and creations – so keep an eye out on their social media and website – I know my kids will be interested!
We had a wonderful evening playing at Williams Den and sampling their yummy homemade Ice cream together as a family and, I don’t know about the kids, but sundaes, a hot chocolate tent, crepes and Pizza sounds like the ideal date to me! But sharing these things together are tasty and lovely and we know you too will feel the same. So, whether its a birthday celebration, a little date whilst the kids play, you are there for a play and fancy a cone, or you’re simply passing by from a long trip on the M62 and need a tasty refreshment break – hop on down to Williams Den and enjoy their sensational locally sourced ice cream – in a tub, cone, or as part of their new scrumptious sundaes and marvellous milkshakes. You can stay and play, or just come for the mouthwatering ice cream – either way Williams Den is a relaxed and wonderful family environment and a place we love to be together creating memories and sharing moments!
*Thank you to Williams Den for this complimentary evening in return for our review. We thoroughly enjoyed another night at the Den and it was by far one of our tastiest visits!
