Thrifty Wife, Hearty Life | 5 under £5 (May)

This months 5 under 5, I have realised are all about me! Several little treats I have picked up here and there for myself that show I really am easily pleased and low maintenance when it comes to what I buy for me. And of course most excited to have some lovely new things in my life!
5 under £5 may
1. Asos Denim Shirt
2 weeks ago whilst out and about with Mr Smith I commented on how I really could do with a denim shirt for this time of year and one that fitted over my bump for comfort and style. Literally 10 minutes later we walked into a charity shop and saw this beaut for £4.50 from Asos… I actually went a little nuts and have loved wearing it since.

2. White Pumps
Another seasonal essential for me, and bought the same day – £2.50 from Primark you really can’t go wrong. Now that I can’t bend so easily they are not only comfortable, but practical for getting on and off and been on my feet a lot.

3. A DVD
Since getting Netflix many moons ago, I don’t tend to buy too many DVDs for us these days, unless its a new release or something for birthdays, but I have had a desire for a while to watch “City Of Angels”. I picked up this copy for £1.26 from Amazon with postage (the Dvd was like 5p) and I am excited for a night to myself to put my feet up and enjoy a blast from the past!

4. A new notebook
I am not a huge stationary fan, but when I saw this little beaut in Home bargains for 99p it had to be mine! I love a bit of bling in life and this I thought would be perfect for blog ideas and to do lists in my bag, instead of trying to squash them onto my already full diary pages.

5. Born Lippy Lip Balm
I have been trying really hard to always carry lip balm with me these days, in an attempt to prevent sore lips and the eventuality of cold sores. I treated myself to this one from the Body shop for £3 (though I did pay less with my discount) – its Plum, lovely, contains community fair trade beeswax, and has a nice tint to it too. Not only is it doing the job, but Mr Smith even commented the other day on my new lip colour, so yes, it was certainly worth it!

One of my friends bought me that notebook from Home Bargains and I love it, I get so much of my staionery from there, it is fantastic! Every year I buy some comfy summer shoes from Primark, they are so reasonable and great for slipping on in the garden. I love the ones you’ve gone for, especially with that denim shirt, I bet you just want to feel comfortable now but you always look fab Mary xx #fiveunder5
