Its been a couple of months since I collected my 5 under £5 haul together and shared it both here on the blog and with all over with Julia at Rainbeaubelle, its not because I haven’t had any, come on people this is me – I am always picking up bargains and cheap deals. I think its more that it was mostly baby bargains and I didn’t want to over kill the baby topic and bore you all with baby sale items!
So this month, with some more balanced all rounder bargains for us all, I am back!
Up first are a couple of items that are all about offering a little bit of extra entertainment for the kids during the summer hols. The majority of our mornings so far have been rather slow in getting ready, with me feeding and trying to do some quick tidying too, so I like to have the kids either playing outside, doing lego or trains or if it’s been a tiring night then a movie…So when I saw the legendary DVD that is THE ORIGINAL BFG (£4.99 from Argos) and then this tunnel for the garden (£2.50 Asda) I couldn’t resist either. They have so many imaginative games with the tunnel and then we had a lovely little movie night last week where the kids laughed their heads off and we reminisced whilst watching the DVD together. There is no way that I will get to the cinema with them any time soon to see the new one (as much as I am dying to see it) and to be honest I am not sure how appropriate it is for their ages, but this way they know the story, are entertained some mornings whilst I feed and gather everything together and can be a part of what is happening! It has so many memories and I love hearing it on in the house!
Next is possibly my favourite purchase for this post and most recent too. Yesterday I spotted these 2 cute tins at £1.99 each (together still coming in under £5) in Home Bargains and just couldn’t leave them on the shelf. They are lovely and I thought what great little lunch tins they could be for Ethan and Megs over the next few weeks and when in the car. They both love them too…
Next is a little something special for me in my postnatal stage of life. Having been quick (for the 1st time ever) to rid myself of maternity wear and be fitting mostly into my size 12s again, I was in need of, or rather fancied a few new bits to see me through the summer and be okay to breastfeed in too. I picked up this lovely jumpsuit in the charity shop earlier this week for £4.99 and I love it! Its a size 12 and fits me well and I am looking forward to taking it on holiday with us next week! Mr Smith isn’t 100% sure of it, which always tells me its cool!
Finally was a little dress up bargain from the H&M sale for Megs! She has a passion for animals and an ambition to be a farmer or vet so when I saw this for just £3 I couldn’t resist the opportunity for her dream to become a ‘make believe’ reality. She wears it often and tends to her unicorns and teddies, its super cute to see how happy she is when wearing it and hearing her whispering to the animals as she cares for them. No price on that element of fun!
Aw how cute does Megs look in her outfit, and I LOVE those tins. I definitely have a thing for boxes and tins and you really have to have them when they look so pretty. Loving the jumpsuit too and I am sure you will look gorgeous in it x
