“Stomping” Bargains at Boohoo.com

Living in Leeds with so many high street stores on our doorstep it is very easy to overlook online retailers like Boohoo.com! Personally I like their dresses for myself and overall find them reasonably priced for most clothing. Its no surprise then that when I heard recently that they have now launched a kids range I was eager to check it out!

I have been on the hunt for some lovely autumn/winter church shoes for the kids for a while now and all the ones I have liked in the usual stores were all quite pricey to only wear one day a week (and maybe the odd party). And then the supermarket ones, whilst cheaper just didn’t possess for me the smart yet a little stylish look I was after for both kids. Sundays are a big day in our family and I like them to be dressed in their best, but the dilemma is when being a thrifty wifey I don’t want to pay loads for the privilege. Boohoo had the solution with lovely styles in both boys and girls and a nice price tag to match! After a quick delivery we were not disappointed… gorgeous shoes that felt great quality and fit well for both kids for a total of £30 – a stomping deal!

For Megan I chose her a smart pair of patent shoes. The T-bar style is so lovely and traditional and the chunky sole gives it a more trendy feel. The buckle was quick for her to master and they go with pretty much all of her dresses and skirts (perfection). They looked so lovely on her and she adores them!
They are posh but practical for her mad lifestyle and I think that they will even be perfect for school later in the school year when she has trashed her current ones and the weather calls for lighter shoes for church! £15 for all of that – bargain!

Ethan specifically asked for some boots for church, but most of the ones I saw in shops had a hiker feel to them which to me were just too casual. His cousins always look fab in their desert boots at church so when I saw Boohoo had some lovely brown ones (also available in camel) again at just £15 I knew they would be perfect. He struggles with laces but with some adult assistance he was away and absolutely loves them. The suede feel and colour has a more grown up look for a 6 year old and are very seasonal and versatile. He found them comfortable and a good sizing.

Whilst shoes were my main goal, I couldn’t not check out their clothing and during the whole ordering process the kids looked with me. They specifically loved all of their Halloween stuff and as it was reduced to 1 and 2 pounds I got them both a top. For Ethan a spider web T-shirt (£1) and Megs a Cat T-shirt (also £1).

For Ethan I went for a 7-8 which I thought would be perfect for next year, but sadly it seems so small for him that his belly shows whenever her reaches for anything, so I can’t figure the sizes there. But for Megs the cat T-shirt I got in a 5-6 was perfect, despite being classed as “Halloween” I think it’s fab for any season with her leggings, skinnies or joggers.

Overall I think that Boohoo kids have some lovely age appropriate things for my kids, and then a few other things I wouldn’t go for in their size, but would be a perfect street style for older kids that want to be on trend whilst being age appropriate. The price tag too is fantastic and the shoes are brilliant! I of course was a little disappointed with the boys range as I felt it was lacking with choice (and I need to figure out those sizes), but I have since been told that the new range does have a wider choice and I can’t wait to take a look!

They have both had lots of compliments on their new shoes and people couldn’t believe that Megsies top was only a quid!! I will definitely be checking them out in the future for the kids as I love a good bargain and its always convenient to be able to get things delivered quickly instead of traipsing round the city with kids in tow!
