Aveeno Baby

With the cooler weather upon us now Winter is here, I am not only facing sleepless nights with a snotty cold ridden baby, but chapped skin on the hands and faces of my other kids too. Their skin is a little Eczema prone at the best of times, but with Megs constantly licking round her mouth, the Winter weather causes some unsightly red rashes to her sensitive skin!

One thing I have recently discovered that I love, is the Aveeno Baby range. Like their creams for adults, they are rich and heal skin quickly whilst protecting it from the elements too. Formulated with natural colloidal oatmeal it is great for use on babies and children alike, and comes in a wash, lotion and barrier cream.

I first heard of Aveeno baby a few weeks ago when in London for Blogfest. I was obviously aware of their original range, but was eager to try out the New baby range after learning loads from them about babies skin and the benefits of oats. We have been using it for about 2.5 weeks now and I can say that I am very impressed with the results.

Baby Soothing Relief Emollient Wash

Alice loves bath time and this rich creamy wash has been so lovely to clean her with. You only need a little, which is great because it lasts ages! And as you rinse away, you can instantly feel the softness on babies skin. The biggest thing I have noticed with it is that the cradle cap she had which seemed to be worse from using another well known brand has almost completely gone in just a few uses. It is tear free and soap free so great for anyone with sensitive skin.

Baby Soothing Relief Emollient Cream

We have used this the most and I love it. I love it for all over her little body after a bath and how soft it leaves her skin. It keeps skin moisturised for 24hrs and is non greasy. Our little routine involves a quick massage with lotion after bath time, and you can instantly (like the wash) feel a difference in the softness of babies skin, it feels so much nicer than the what we were using before for her and is absorbed quickly!

I have used this a lot on Ethan and Megan’s hands and faces too. Red, dry and fierce from the weather and Eczema, I have noticed a huge difference after just one application at bed time. They wake up soft and healed…redness gone. It really is great for all of the family and the natural ingredients give assurance that is safe too without harsh chemicals.

Baby Daily Care Barrier Cream

With teething and being under the weather, Alice has had a lot of nappy rash on and off the last couple of weeks. For this I usually use Sudocream and in the past for Ethan and Megs as babies it was that or Bepanthen. Instead for this review I have used the Aveeno barrier cream and it is fantastic. It soothes and clears it up super fast (we are talking reduced redness over night) and I love it because again it is all natural containing colloidal oatmeal and  zinc oxide.

The tube is 100ml so you get a reasonable amount, without it being too big for your changing bag. And like all of their products, a little goes a long way with the rich consistency.

Oats have many benefits for skin, including; moisturising, soothing, protecting and helping it return to its normal PH levels. But you don’t need to be scientist to see the real benefits of the Aveeno baby range. In just a couple of weeks use we have reduced cradle cap significantly, softened up kids chapped hands, and reduced and gotten ridden of nappy rash and redness on the kids faces. Yes it is a little more than some other brands, but how my kids look and feel after using it, id say is worth every extra penny!

What gorgeous pictures of you little one. I’ve been using Aveeno baby since Blogfest also and I LOVE IT. I was already obsessed with their main range, its been a god send on Henrys eczema prone skin. But the new baby formula has been amazing too. I also feel like because it soaps up, he is actually getting washed. Compared to the oatmeal wash, it felt more like a milk bath. Renee #bestandworst x
